Biography

Dhruvi Panchal is a graduate student at West Virginia University in the Chemical and Biomedical Engineering department. Her doctoral dissertation is focused on MRI-guided theranostics for brain metastases. She aims to design and characterize novel brain metastatic-tumor-targeted repurposed molecules to detect and treat breast cancer brain metastasis at an early stage.

Dhruvi received her Bachelor of Pharmacy from S. N. D. T Women’s University, India in June 2017. In the Junior year of her undergraduate, she worked on natural colorants for cosmetics to make herbal cosmetics and in her Senior year, she worked on formulating microemulsion-based gels from cashew leaves and miswak twigs extracts for wound healing. She received her Master of Pharmacy with specialization in Pharmaceutics from Savitribai Phule Pune University, India in May 2020. Her dissertation for masters was directed towards scaffolds from marine-sourced products as advanced wound dressings. During her masters, she assisted her peers with a project on solid-lipid nanoparticles to treat overactive bladder. Additionally, she has completed a certificate course in Pharmaceutical Intellectual Property Rights and has worked in an Indian-based generic pharmaceutical company Macleods Pharmaceuticals Limited in the Formulation R&D of Oral Solid Dosage Forms.

Her career goal is to continue in the field of biomedical and pharmaceutical research and start her venture.
